write letters to my grandmothers

I visited them for a couple of weeks about 2 months ago. It was awesome to spend time with both of them.
I called my abuelita Alba yesterday and she shared a couple of recipes with me over the phone. She loves talking about cooking and I love to listen. I’m compiling as many recipes as I can from both of them. Some day I’ll make them into a family book of recipes.
Just finished writing a card for my abuelita Tita. Hope she gets it fast.

Sent both grandmothers a letter the other day, with pictures of my son and a little update on our lives. Mostly just a “thinking of you.”
Felt good.

I sent out a letter to my Abuelita Tita. For awhile now she hasn’t been able to understand me well on the phone, can’t hear me…so I have called when somebody is with her so that they can help her out but it’s not the same.
I do talk on the phone with my maternal abuelita pretty often so I’m not so concerned with writing her a letter yet…although I know BOTH of them would like snail mail.
I’ve gotten used to writing emails to my parents and sister at least twice a week and talking on the phone with them for about one or two hours a week. They are far away and I don’t get to see them often, maybe once a year…so it’s important to talk often and keep the relationships going.
So, I finally wrote to my Grandma. Wish I could have typed it, could have gone a lot faster and clearer for her…but I know she would think it impersonal so I took the time and wrote a long long letter, as neatly as possible.
Can’t wait till she gets it!
