I actually enjoy taking care of my nails now. I keep a little manicure kit in my computer desk and trim and file my nails when I’m waiting for things to load. It makes me feel more confident and people notice that I have nice nails. I even paint my toenails occasionally now, something I would have put off as a waste of time not too long ago.

When I was a kid I bit my nails all the time. Now I mostly just pick at them, especially when I’m anxious. I hate the way it looks, I hate when people look at my hands. I remember someoene telling me once about someone they knew who had just decided one day that she was going to have pretty nails so she started going to a professional manicurist every week. I guess now she’s livin the dream. I wonder if I would pick my nails less if I were investing more into them…
imajicas43things is happy to have completed a goal
I always paint them when I go out but never use base coat and then don’t bother to remove it. So through the week my nails are always awful and sometimes stay like it for weeks :(
dont chew!! when ever you feel the need to chew , get out the nail file instead
File them regularly to stop small cracks becoming big ones
if you have nails like mine that are dry and crack easy, soak them in lukewarm olive oil every now and then to soften them
you can use a polish called stop grow. it tastes horrible and stops you from chewing
I’ve got lots of comments about my nails since i started looking after them and i think it makes me look more feminine
My hands are hang-nail free. I bought some clear polish that has a light tint. Moisturizing them like crazy! My mom even noticed and commented. Big improvement. Now, if I could only do the same with my feet…
with caring for my nails. Now, I do want to clarify that my nails are not long by any stretch of the imagination. They’re short. I need to keep them neat because otherwise my cuticles get bad and I get painful hangnails. And sure enough this past week I got one. I will have to start again. If I maintain them well for one month and get no hangnails I will consider this completed.
I was thinking of going to a manicurist, but that would be just wasting money. I can never keep a good manicure for more than a couple of days. It’s better that I do it myself. I don’t use color polish, just the clear. So, I will take care of them tonight. And my goal is to maintain healthy nails for a month. Then, I think I can say I’ve acheived this goal.
Used my step-mom’s nail kit and I’m well on my way to having wonderful hands. Makes me feel great, because I see my hands all day long, what with writing tickets and pressing buttons.
