I’ve picked out the perfect starter uke. And it’s super cute and cheap, but still too expensive for me because I’m poor ha. But that’s okay, I will wait and plan.

It’s a soprano ukulele, made of mahogany, and it only cost $40 at the music shop. Last night I tried playing Blitzkrieg Bop on it. :D
My friend lives in Hawaii and I live in Pennsylvania. She bought me one and sent it to me. It’s a cheap one right now but she said her uncle is going to make me a custom made one when he has time. Can’t wait.
I bought my ukulele on Amazon, it’s a concert-sized Washburn OU5 Koa Ukulele. I’ve been playing it regularly since, although I’d like to practice more. I plan to find a teacher to help me improve.

It only cost 32 dollars, and it has a rainbow and palm trees on it, with the word Hawaii. I’m gonna show it to people!
Last weekend I picked up a ukulele for a friend of mine for her to give as a gift. It was a soprano uke on sale for $27, but it was barely more than a glorified tourist souvenir. So I figured my price range to be about $75-$100. The music store I usually go to happened to have “Aloha February” going on with all their ukes on sale from $27 to $1400. I settled on a $100 concert uke with a black finish and a pickup. Very cool. The concert ukulele is tuned like a soprano uke, but it’s bigger. When the guy rang me up, he did a couple double takes between the sale tag and the price tag. “This actually usually goes for $179…that’s a pretty good deal!”
So yay! I’m happy with it. I named it Lilo.
Got my eye on one – and want to test out the whole ‘guitar’ theory I have going on – so figure I’ll try this, and see what happens before I go buy something more serious =)
Plus they’re COOLinsane, slightly cross-eyed grin
I had already brought one from Mall mart (ughhhhhh), and my MOM insisted that I was tuning it wrong and broke a string.
It was a bad uke anyway.
So I bought the light blue version of this:

It’s being sent as I type.
