I didn’t look THAT hard. I did, however, go to the library this afternoon, pay off all my fines and buy a replacement library card. And then I couldn’t find a single book I wanted to read. That’s pathetic… I have got such a woolly sleep-deprived brain. I must fight the lure of trash mags and read again. A friend lent me an Alan Warner book I haven’t read at the weekend. I’ll start with that.
I still haven’t found what I’m looking for. Might have to go in and get a new one. I’m pretty sure I’ll have to take a bank statement or some palaver… Got to do it! Love the library!
I honestly think that, in my case, this is not worth it, because I never carry my wallet around with me to school, which is conveniently located right next to the library, and the most common times when I would go to the library is after school. However, I don’t have my wallet with me thus I don’t have my library card, so this doesn’t really help my situation.
I got a new one today. I popped into the library to see what new stuff they had. I saw “Cat vs. Cat” and knew I had to read that because my furbrats are constantly trying to beat the snot out of each other. So I resigned myself to ponying up the $2 for a new card.
When I got to the counter, I was presented with a choice of card designs. I eenie-meenie-miney-mo’ed to make my selection and was fishing for my $2. But the guy at the counter said they are switching people to the new cards from their old ones, so there was no charge! W00T!
That flamin’ card is never leaving my wallet! (except when it gets scanned at the check-out desk, of course)

My husband saw the comment on 43 things and handed my library card to me as he knew where it was as coincidentally he had found it yesterday!
I’ve put it in my purse so I have it on me at all times.

I’ve lost my library card again. I haven’t a clue where I put it.
I stopped by the library and explained that I have temporarily misplaced my card. They said I could use my driver’s license to check out 3 books, but I’d have to pay $2 for a replacement card. Now, $2 doesn’t seem like a lot of money, but I know that if I pay for a new card, I’ll come home and the “old” card will suddenly be in plain view!
So I gave the library a miss for today…I’m sure the card will turn up soon.
...but where??? I’m sure I can still check books out without the card, but I hate it when I know I’ve seen it but it’s not in any “logical” place like my wallet.
Damn. It’s not where I left it.
I should clean my room and perhaps then I shall stumble across it.
