I’ve spent the last two weeks, and my very long 12 hour weekends at work, to read the book that i bought on greek mythology. I have learned alot about the gods, and special events that took place in that time period. And i will continue to learn more. But for now i have completed my goal in learning more aboug greek mythology. It is very interesting, and i encourage anyone who would like to achieve this goal, to read the book “MYTHOLOGY” by Edith Hamilton. It is very helpful!

I find greek mythology very very interesting. I think i just like to learn about diffrent things… and well anyone who knows about greek mythology knows that it is “Diffrent” My favorite characters so far have to be, Appolo, Dionysus, Ares, and Athena. And i am currently reading a couple of books on the greek mythology, So i am underway in completing this… Hopefully it doesent take me too long heh. But wish me luck, and i will let everyone know how i am doing…
so i read somewhere about this river in hades called lethe which would cause the people who drank from it to forget their life on earth. that could wind up having a really interesting connection if i have to write something involving symbolism somewhere down the line…
I admit it – I’m a history nerd. (and with that statement, I say goodbye to my chances of being cool!) I find Greek mythology in particular really interesting, yet I know very little about it (or so I feel)! This is one of those goals which I’ve had for ages but which I never seem to have the time for…hopefully one day…
so far, my favorite figures in greek mythology that I have come across are Icarus, Persephone, Demeter, dionysus, Orpheus, Eurydice, the sirens, and the creature known as the Chimera. I love when its referenced in modern literature or song lyrics, it just adds so much more passion to the situation being discribed.
You know, I think I’ve done this already. I don’t think I’ll improve on it, though.
It was interesting, but I don’t think just anyone would be intriqued by it.
I feel smarter, but am I? I don’t know.
I checked out a book from the library (with my brother’s library card, because I can’t find my own). It starts out at the very beginning with Gaia. I’m learning a lot, like how Zeus became a god. I always saw him as just being there. You know, he’s always been there. But no, he’s the son of Cronos and Rhea. Imagine giving birth to the GOD of gods, let alone just a god. =P
