Wisdom is better then knowledge.
Wisdom is the ability to not only figure out what the right thing to do would be, but also the ability to do everything possible to make it work.
One of the hardest parts about wisdom is the finding of what is right, and what is wrong. Something that is truly good, is very hard to find.
In this I don’t mean material goodness, but to do something truly good one must spend a lot of time (of re-)searching (to find it).
Then, often it takes an even greater amount of time and energy to make it all come to pass…
I want to be wise, to help others in a friendly way. That way others will be friendly to me as well; and to do good to help others if I can.
I only wished someone else would approve of this action. It would be enough to keep going….
the hardest thing is that the truth, and good things aren’t always the best looking things at first sight…
What do you tell to someone who wastes all her money on gambling?
Wisdom isn’t always appreciated by everyone.. Especially not those who really need it!

I understand that a lot of people seek wisdom for self gain but i believe that if i can blessed with wisdom like that which was give to King Solomon, everything else will fall into place. I believe that if you are able to help people and make a difference to people you will not have to worry about yourself, all you need will be satisfied as a by-product because of the wisdom.

i want to gain wisdom as i dont have it enough to make better of everything. I want to be able to differentiate which things are right to do and which are not and how to behave in certain situation in the hope of creating the bests. I wanna have enough wisdom that i dont just care about myself but be able to make decision for the sake of others too!

I WANT TO BE WISER…I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TOLD IT IS BETTER TO BE WISE THEN IT IS TO BE SMART…YOU ARE SMART WHEN U LEARN FROM YOUR OWN MISTAKES BUT YOU ARE WISE WHEN U LEARN FROM THE MISTAKES THAT OTHERS MAKE…I WOULD RATHER BE WISE..IT COULD SAVE ME ALOT OF PROBLEMS…HEARTACHE… AND TIME THAT I COULD BE DOING OTHER THINGS..IT IS SAID THAT A WISE MAN KNOWS EVERYTHING AND A SHREWED ONE EVERYBODY..BECAUSE I WANT TO BE WISE I NEED TO MAKE A FEW CHANGES TO GET ON THAT ROAD….FIRST I NEED TO START READING A WHOLE LOT MORE THEN I DO NOW…I ALSO NEED TO TALK TO OLDER PEOPLE AND LISTEN TO THERE WARNINGS ABOUT LIFE AND ITS LESSONS…I KNOW I WANT TO HAVE A GOOD PAIN FREE LIFE..WELL THIS IS NOT TOTALLY POSSIBLE BUT I COULD STOP ALOT OF THE PAIN IF I JUST LISTEN TO MY ELDERS….SO I WANT TO START READING MORE AND TALKING AND LISTENING TO MY ELDERS THAT IS MY GOAL…HOPEFULLY THIS WILL ALLOW ME TO GAIN WISDOM…IF U HAVE ANY OTHER IDEAS THEN LET ME KNOW..I WOULD BE HAPPY TO HEAR YOUR ADVICE.

I dont think wisdom is a goal by definition. Its more about forgetting all you know and follow your heart. To me being wise, is being able to look beyond, and see without making any judgement as did I see it for the first time and for the last time. Its about being eternally young and eternally old at once. Children are often so close to both death and wisdom, cause they have yet not learned to lie. I find the simplest things are often the most hardest to accomplish, therefore I think wisdom is found in the simplest and most obvious things. Its like love. You cant own it. Its a flash of insight, and it just happens to you. Wisdom is found in nature. Its a thing to be passionate about, like “freedom” or “truth”, it cant be circled in and understood once and for all.Its knowing without thought, the essence of experience.

I found a site of wisdom quotes at http://www.wisdomquotes.com/
Here are a few quotations worth sharing.
Pierre Abelard:
“The beginning of wisdom is found in doubting; by doubting we come to the question, and by seeking we may come upon the truth.”
William Saroyan:
“Good people are good because they’ve come to wisdom through failure. We get very little wisdom from success, you know.”
Stephen Covey:
“Whatever is at the center of our life will be the source of our security, guidance, wisdom, and power.”
Cicero:
“The function of wisdom is to discriminate between good and evil.”
Immanuel Kant:
“Science is organized knowledge. Wisdom is organized life.”
Lin Yutang:
“Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is the noble art of leaving things undone. The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of non-essentials.”
Robert Heinlein:
“But goodness alone is never enough. A hard cold wisdom is required, too, for goodness to accomplish good. Goodness without wisdom invariably accomplishes evil.”
Henry David Thoreau:
“A man is wise with the wisdom of his time only, and ignorant with its ignorance.”
Stephen Sigmund:
“Learn wisdom from the ways of a seedling. A seedling which is never hardened off through stressful situations will never become a strong productive plant.”
Theodore Roosevelt:
“Nine-tenths of wisdom consists in being wise in time.”

...it’s often not very comfortable to do so.
I’ve been told that if one truly wants to gain wisdom, they must want it like a drowning man wants air.
