finish knitting my youngest child's "baby" blanket

...and I’m glad that I finally completed this project!

Well, ladies and gentlemen…

It’s done!!! Yahoo!!!

The best part is that she loves it! I surprised her by leaving it draped over the end of her bed so that when she woke up this morning, it was the first thing she saw.

I love the fact that I let go of my ways and let her pick the pattern for all the squares…my hubby is right, it makes it all that much more special.

Now, I have bought several skeins of alpaca wool and….
oh boy, here we go again! :)

I have all the pieces linked together now I just need to stitch them up!

Soon you’ll be seeing the final product :)

I’ve been trying so hard to get this blanket done and lately I’ve been having lots of back and neck pain…well, it turns out it is from knitting….?...I know, weird but I actually had to go to the massage therapist to help fix it!

Anyway, I’m glad this blanket is almost done.

Well, little one is almost 4 years old….I really have to get this done!

I’m close…I’m really close! I want to have it done to give as part of the birthday present…wish me luck!

it is taking me forever to finish…I just saw that my original post was 7 months ago…terrible! :(

I laid out all the squares I have knit so far and it makes a blanket that would just fit over little one right now so I guess I’m about 3/4 done…

As you know, I’m knitting this blanket… every night I knit a bit more.

Last night, my eldest said to me before lights out, “Mommy, could you knit some more onto my blanket to make it bigger??”...
of course, what else are you going to say to the first wonderful child to make you a mother?*

Ah… I’d better get going on this blanket!

I make sure to pick up the knitting needles every night while I’m relaxing on the couch watching some t.v.

Little by little, it’s coming along!
