Day 1: [experience TBD] 12 months ago
I knew today would be a fast but it went deeper since all I had was the tea in place of the SWF this morning. Tomorrow will be the progression to the SWF and water throughout the day. This offers a little more comfort easing into the cleanse when I don’t transition a few days pre-Cleanse with a clean diet. People who eat heavily processed, sugary, greasy… you get it… right before the cleanse tend to be bothered with the extremely painful headaches and fatigue initially.
Delaying the inevitable proves wiser for me at the moment. I got so caught up revising my resumes online, I literally didn’t even notice the day was passing me by so quickly.
My son took my before picts this morning… I will say it was motivating to press on and out of this slump I’ve been dwelling in. I am so greatful God still empassions me towards creative meal planning when it comes to healthier options. My sons are so cool! They rarely hesitate but always end up enjoying my attempts to make their diets 75% vegetarian.
I’m documenting results in great details this time. It was very interesting at three different points today when a 1lb was shed at each interval as I predicted. Due to no nutritional intake (and my getting busy) there was no exercise but that’s understandable. About to take my tea, and try to not find more work to do.
Day 2 begins…

It’s been so long since I’ve been up here I have no idea what my last username was. Nevertheless, I have reverted back to so many old ways brought on by a serious bout of depression which built up over the nearly 4yrs I’ve been back in the small county where I grew up. I wouldn’t have thought I’d be where I’m at considering everything I had accomplished but I will assume it means I still had a deeper lesson to learn.
That being said, I haven’t completed the Master Cleanse faithfully in about 5yrs. Yea, I’m not too happy to admit that but I think a lot has to do with my settling for where I was and feeling like I didn’t have to be any better than that. Boy was I ever wrong! Here I go again and still can’t say honestly, right at this moment, that I KNOW I’m going to make it for my goal period. I do know I’m going to give it 110% since I’ve averaged well below 75% as of late in my life.
Tonite I start with the original Smooth Move which has been seeping for close to 24hrs now. I like the peppermint and chocolate Smooth Moves as well just because I like to mix it up. I tend to do the same with the Lemonade, sometimes choosing the Lime instead just to break the monotony. I believe in making sure that half my body weight in ounces of water is also downed daily. I will start off with a gallon of water/day just to round it all out.
I like starting out Day 1 without the lemonade just to get in a good elimination based water fast. Exercise is definitely a focus during this time because I’m very familiar with how it can aid in toxins being released as well. Energy is at such a high level during the cleanse, there shouldn’t be any apprehension about moving forward according to my strategy.
I am glad to be doing this again on 43things.com. It really does offer a way to be held accountable when you are doing it alone. I’m committed to chronicling the journey in its entirety here- 21 Days. My fingers are crossed. Til Tomorrow…

Didn’t get to do any tea or SWF this morning. I ran outta tea and got up late (again). I’m not a morning person, so it’s really tough to drag myself outta bed. So far, no elimination… I lost another 2lbs, maybe because of the gym yesterday. Anyhow, I will try to gulp the SWF tomorrow morning, since it is Saturday, I can definitely do it.
The day went by so easy as I was pretty much busy at work and no time to think of anything else. At night, it was quite tough. Went to a gathering where food is just right in front of me. I didn’t feel hungry at all, but quite tempted since I love Japanese food. Almost feel like giving up, but I survived the night… 15 months ago
Lost 4lbs so far, which is quite normal as I can easily lose/gain 5lbs normally. Today is a bit easier in terms of headache. I didn’t feel it that much. I am even able to hit the gym today and burn some calories. I drank the lemonade mix starting from 10am and every two hours since, I think that helps to reduce/eliminate the headache.
However, in the evening, the hunger pangs kicked in quite a bit. As I am typing this, my stomach is growling hard. No particular food craving in mind, but just feels like chewing/tasting something else other than the lemonade drink. Quite early huh… I still have eight more days to go… Fight on! 15 months ago
Eeek, couldn’t wake up early today, so I skipped the SWF. The laxative tea just had its effect not long after I got up.
Anyway, I thought I could hit the gym for a little bit, but oh well, things at work kept me busy and this massive headache is not helping either. I didn’t expect that I would get a headache this fast, it’s only day 1. The great news is… It’s almost the end of the day, at least, I survived day 1 :) 15 months ago
Just gulp the laxative tea, not a big fan of it. SWF is much better,I think. So starting tomorrow, no more tea. I am replacing it with SWF.

Today is day 9. Can’t wait to taste the oj on Monday. The weight loss has slowed a bit for me. I’m down to 124.5 now, but didn’t lose anything from yesterday to today. I feel good, but I am so tired of the lemonade. I’ve done this many times before, but I’ve never been so tired of tasting the lemonade.

Going on day 5. I’m doing ok. down to 126, after finally getting a new scale :) The SWF wasn’t as horrible today, though still really hard to get down. I just can’t get all of it down. Everytime I swallow all of it, I throw a little of it up! Maybe my stomach just can’t hold it all…. 15 months ago
i only weigh myself once in awhile. last i checked i was at 127 and that was wednesday.
I’m going till next wednesday the 8th… so! looking foreward to that. 16 months ago
Well, this is the beginning of Day 3. Need to get a new scale. I stepped on it today and I was suddenly 135.5…could I seriously have gained 7 pounds over night? No way…so off to the store later to buy a new scale. Then we’ll see how much I really weigh.
Geez, I want to chew something badly. My stomach doesn’t feel too hungry, but my mouth just wants to chew and swallow something. And I’m tired of the lemonade, still. I am putting just a tiny drop of the maple syrup in…I know I need the calories, but I just don’t like the taste! I used to…but for some reason I don’t like it so much anymore. Today, I am juicing some limes. The original master cleanse booklet says limes are ok, so I’m going to mix it up a little.
When I get the new scale, we’ll see what I weigh now. Hopefully it will be close to the 128.5, or else I won’t know how much weight I’ve lost by the end…. 16 months ago
Well this is day 2 for me. Again. I do this cleanse every so often. This time I’m doing it with someone. It’s more motivating, but it still kind of sucks. The SWF is nasty both going in and coming out! But I guess that’s the point. Yesterday morning I weighed in at 130.5. Today, I’m 128.5. I know the point is detox, but for me the motivation is weight loss. Hopefully, this trend will keep going. 2 lbs is a lot. I know it won’t be that much every day, but as long as the scale keeps going down, I’m good. Even if it’s just a little.
My biggest problem is that it’s only day 2, and I’m already tired of the lemonade. I only drink it when I’m really hungry or weak. I don’t like the maple syrup very much so put only half of what is called for in each glass. But still. I wish I could just have the lemon and water! LOL!
Anyway, i’m going to try to stay strong. 16 months ago
