mwolvert is going to look at an apartment.
I still could go better but at least I have one now.
How I did it: I ordered the Canon 50D with 28-135mm zoom lens and multiple accessories, including a 70-300mm zoom lens, a carrying case, an external flash and flash diffuser, an extra battery pack, and an 8GB memory card from various sources through Amazon.com. They should all arrive within the next week or two. I am so glad to finally have the money to make the purchase--it totaled around $2,250. I figured a 50D was the right way to go...I've been using a 10D that was borrowed, and I liked it, but I wanted something more recent in that series. I thought it would be a good jumping off point to get my photography career up and running.
Lessons & tips: Do your research! If you are going to drop a couple thousand on a camera, make sure it is the right one!

it’s not the high tech professional ones i want, but we couldn’t afford those now anyways. instead, my husband got me a wonderful replacement of the canon i broke back in september. it’s the canon powershot SD1000- 7.1 megapixel. it’s definitely an upgrade to the 3.2 megapixel powershot i had before! which was a well-appreciated gift from my mother-in-law who gave it to us especially to take photos on our road trip!
so, more than double the awesome. mighty good.
I decided that I will need one small Point and Shoot camera, and one DSLR camera, as I wouldn’t like to bring my DSLR otside in bad weather conditions, also it would be much larger and I will think twice if I’d like to bring it with me going to a party for example. But I wouldn’t like to be limited to miss a nice shoot so..yesterday arrived my Canon S3 camera :) Up to now I’m really happy with her, though have no patience to get my Nikon D80…awwwwww

cuz the digital camera i rely on so much decided to stop working.
So far the camera is working pretty well, but I am having a bit of trouble with the batteries…hopefully it’s just the batteries. I got some rechargeable ones and I had to charge them twice before the camera would even turn on. Bah.
Well, I’ll keep messing around with it for a bit. Hopefully I’ll figure out how to set the timer soon…
