The beginning of week 2 sees me out in the snow spattered park completing my Monday morning run. As I look out of the window I can see that it’s begun to snow again already! My timing was impeacable not to mention lucky.
I’ll be insufferably virtuous all day.

Only three more weeks of training to go.
Today I did the longest run so far. 25 mins straight, which took me round 3.25 laps of South Park. I know from running 5k distances last year that 4 laps is a little over 5k; so I had a real sense of getting close to my goal today. Not to mention the little high you get from pushing your body hard and not giving up. Totaly fab way to start the week.
The next 3 sessions are all 25 min runs – I want to try to get a bit further round the park with each run.

On Friday I did the 20 minute run and didn’t die or pass out with the exertion! It felt quite fabulous – as if I really achieved something. I really must find a shedule to run to after this one finishes or I’ll end up going back to the couch within 9 weeks of completing my 5k.

I did the longest run yet. 2×8 minute runs (approx. 3/4 of a mile) with a 5 minute walk inbetween. On Thursday morning I get the challenge of the first scheduled 20 minute run (approx 2 miles). It’s much longer than anything I’ve done on this plan so far. I’m nervous and kind of excited about it too. Certainly the first of the 8 min runs this morning felt far easier than I expected, which bodes well for the real challenge later this week.

I had the best run this morning and now I’m so full of beans!
I started on week four of the running plan this morning and it felt fab. I can’t wait for Saturday’s run to do it all again but faster.

in 9 weeks time I’ll be back up to 5k in the mornings.
I have a proper plan:

It felt really good to be back out running again and it didn’t hurt to be showing off my tan either :o)
