take more pictures...better pictures

I enjoy photography but I can get better if I carry my camera around more and take more photos. I took 800 photos in 12 days on a trip through Europe – lots of blurry ones, some really cool ones and some that I took randomly but actually turned out to be perfect.

I’ve made a little progress on this one… But I barely brought my camera to Bluefest at all (largely due to the heavy amounts of rain though) but I did get some fun pictures from the crowd going wild during Girl Talk (did I tell you about how much fun that was? If I didn’t, I’ll tell you now = It was so much fun).

I also took lots of pictures up at the cottage (maybe a few too many of hummingbirds and sunsets, but it was lousy weather so it was hard to get quality people shots since everyone was grumpy).

Just need to make it through tomorrow and work on Friday then off to the cottage with friends. Weather looks…. wet. :)

My husband surprised me by buying a kick-ass camera. Great incentive!!! Perhaps I will use some of my “better pictures” to frame around the house and kill two goals with one stone.

I don’t always think about how much I’m going to forget between now and when I am an old man. It would be nice to have some pictures to remember things by. It would be nice if those pictures looked good, too.

I bet when I have kids the number of photographs I take will grow exponentially. But I’m sure I’ll want to remember what life was like before that, too.

i am an ‘experiment’ for a photography class my art teacher wishes to have in my school. i was given a camera and a list. i have till the end of spring break to come back with some good pics. i think im doing pretty good. there is more to come.

I’m not taking better pictures but I’ve started to take more again. Now if only I could sit for some time and fiddle with my camera to get it focusing right again.

I went on vacation last week… and I took my camera with me. It isn’t a great camera, one I bought 3 years ago, it was expensive then… but now its a cheap one. Despite it not being a great camera, I took a few really good tures and as soon as I got back to town I had them printed and I framed and matted them myself. They turned out so well it’s inspired me to look around my own area for good pictures to take… and to possibly take a photography class to learn about composition and color and techniques. I do have to take a fine arts class as part of my general education requirements for my degree…. and this would be one class I think I would thoroughly enjoy.

After so much time shopping and comparing I decided on the Nikon D90. The very next day they came out with the new Canon cameras. They are trying to drive me nuts.
