She was my science teacher. She was great and always built me up with compliments. Unlike most of my classes I couldn’t wait to get to science class. She made it fun and interesting. Of course I also sat beside Brandy in that class.

I think this was my first African American teacher. I was born in West Virginia and grew up there hadn’t even seen someone of a different ethnicity until I moved to Texas. Thats right folks I went the first 9 years of my life only having seen white people in real life. Anyway, Mrs Jackson, man she sure liked to talk! I just remember how funny she was and how loud and boisterious as well. She was always very encouraging. She tried so hard to help me get up the courage to tell Brandy Deyoung that I had a gianormous crush on her and to ask her to be my girlfriend. Mrs Jackson used to tell me if you don’t ask, how will you ever know? Sadly I never got up the nerve and eventually Brandy moved away when her i think step-dad got restationed. So Mrs Jackson in honor of your advice here goes….
Brandy Deyoung if you are out there somewhere I have a crush on you and will you be my girlfriend or go out on a date with me? lol.

I think I’m going to cheat and start with someone who wasn’t a teacher at all but rather the school counselor and school speech therapist (West Virginia schools can be low budget). I think I spent more time in her office than in the classroom, between the speech therapy sessions and the divorce counseling she was a great friend to have at that time in my life. Not a lot to say here just a thanks! and a some fond memories.
