today i mapped my childhood neighborhood as i remember it (trails i liked in the woods, where the footbridge to the beach was, where the best climbing trees were. it was fun, and i could do so much more to make it a really beautiful map, but it’s not exactly what my goal with this one is. so i might just leave it and try to figure out what exactly i am trying to map.

i don’t know exactly what i mean by this. but maps have become increasingly special to me over time. and i feel there is a certain internal kind of map (or multiple internal maps) that would be very beautiful if i made a physical manifestation of them somehow. i need to think about this…

does anyone relate?
has anyone “mapped” before without really knowing what you are mapping?
