I wasn’t sure where I could recycle batteries, so I googled it and found out that I can recycle them at IKEA. I have several AA batteries that I thought were drained because they didn’t work in my camera and the expiration date passed, but I tried them in my TV remote and they still work. I’ll hold onto them for a little while longer and I’ll for sure recycle them once they don’t work at all anymore…

When I lived at home, my dad had an old bleach bottle with a hole cut in the side for depositing dead batteries into. Then he’d take them somewhere for recycling.
I was wondering how I’d ever find a place to take batteries in my new city when I stumbled across one drop-off location at Metro Hall this week! Even though I’ve just bought a set of rechargeable batteries and should be able to phase out non-rechargeables soon, I’m glad these last few won’t have to go into a landfill.
