merlmd is back!!!
why does someone like me who lives in a country surrounded by water not know how to swim? I tried to learn…God knows I did but unfortunately my body’s buoyancy lasts only for as long as I could hold my breath, so eventually my varsity swimmer for a brother gave up on trying to teach me…that was about 20 years ago…fast forward to the future…for the first time in my life, I had the opportunity to snorkel in a beautiful lagoon and since I proudly declared I could float, I volunteered to be among the first, so after being given some kind of instruction on how to use the mask, I did not hesitate to jump in the water…of course with a guide at my side…but he never said anything about trying to swim too…so there I was struggling to keep afloat while trying to look at the corals below. I finally grabbed at his buoy and he so kindly just dragged me across the beautiful corals and different kinds of sea life…actually I felt like a little sea cow being dragged across, hahahaha. Next time, I will learn to do it properly..in a swimming pool first…hahaha
