I’m reading loads at the moment and really enjoying it, currently reading Walden and On Civil Disobedience by Henry FDavid Thoureau- highly recommended this guy knows what his life is about.

I bought a Sony Reader, which is an electronic book, to take away travelling with me. I’ve loaded it up with free classic literature from Project Gutenberg, whom I owe a huge donation.
Am currently reading Villette, by Charlotte Bronte, have recently finished Norwegian Wood, Haruki Murakami.
Lots to keep me occupied!

Under the summer roses
When the flagrant crimson
Lurks in the dusk
Of the wild red leaves,
Love, with little hands,
Comes and touches you
With a thousand memories,
And asks you
Beautiful, unanswerable questions.

I know now that this is a good plan indeed.
Through Blake, I came to Huxley, through a quote from Huxley’s ‘The Doors of Perception’ (title from Blake) I am introduced to Meister Eckhart: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meister_Eckhart
I’m intrigued at the striking parallels of name, nationality and more than anything else perceptions of this man and Eckhart Tolle. Now I have never been a believer in reincarnation as such but this certainly gives me food for thought.
Anyone know any more about Meister Eckhart?

Read more poetry, more great thinkers, more great books. I need to be more open to learning from and being inspired by the achievements of great minds in the past.
I’m going to try and explore literature in an unstructured way. As it comes to me and as my interest arises. I have learned from my study of classical chinese literature at university that forcing a schedule and set framework for interpretation on literature ruins it for me.
I’ve rediscovered William Blake today, which is a good start.

I finally read Hamlet and listened to it as well. And I have the Laurence Olivier film to watch. It’s been good. Enjoyed it.

to try listening to and reading Hamlet. Wish me luck.
I used to be such an obsessive reader, seriously young adult publishers should hire me as an advisor, because I’ve read EVERYTHING.
BUT, I want to start reading more quality lit, and less cheesy, churned out of a publication company to make more money, silly books.
