Every time i see a horse in the feilds, or go out to the mountains or countryside i thhink of how much i would love it if i could have a horse. i never grew up around them or anything, and i’ve only ridden on a horse a few times when i was little. but i want one real bad…i wanna learn to ride and care for them. ive read stories watched movies. petted them, fed them, watched them, seen people ride them and love them. i want a part of it.

Either purchase or lease a horse that I can tend to, care for, take trail riding and generally pal around with and add to my family. That would add immensely to my life. Plan ahead to be financially secure so that I could keep him/her for their lifetime.
Horses are amazing creatures. I love the way they see the world and they challenge me to grow in nearly every way possible.
I have six horses. Each one is special in its own way.
The photo is the most recent additon to my herd “Soxy” – born April 17, 2006. She is simply fantastic!
She was/is beautiful. I had to leave her with my ex in Wyoming. She was an American Quarterhorse, and she had a colt that we named Elvis. Unfortunately, he hung himself accidentially on the fence with his harness. I had just started training him with the rope & having him run the field with me. I was heartbroken when he died, and heartbroken when I had to leave my Satin. But I have treasured memories of the two of them that I will keep with me always.

All my life i’ve wanted a horse, and guess what? Now I have one! Here’s my story…
When i was a little girl i loved horses and have always had a connection with them. But when i turned eleven i had a goal. To learn how to ride one. Oh sure i’ve had pony rides, but i wanted to take lessons, and actually learn how to ride one. I always had dreams of keeping a buckskin horse in one of my dad’s shops (car storage).
But the thing was i was afraid, and so was my mom (my mom took lessons when she was 13 but got bucked off and never wanted to ride again). I was afraid of the horse taking off on me and stuff, but finally my grandma and mom looked through the phone book and found a riding stable where i could take lessons. I was so excited.
Three years went by, and i had lost about fifteen pounds from riding once every week. (i was a chubby girl) I had gained tons of confidence in myself. I had learned almost everything i could learn about taking care of a horse, and soon my teacher couldn’t teach me much of anything anymore. I had been in a couple parades. My mom grew confidence in horses too. My teacher had a horse named jesse that was a (grumpy mare). She had been abused after tons of good training methods, and my teacher gave up, but then she wanted me to work with her every week by just riding her, and she actually did buck her riders off. (happened to me) And i didn’t walk away. I got right back on, and just look at her now. She’s now calm enough to put a four year old on her. After jesse i didn’t have much of anything to work with, and i was starting to get confused of where horses were going to take me in life.
My grandma relized this and has a neighbor (ruth) with about 5 horses. She was pretty close with Ruth and she had a horse (Buck) that she never really used for anything and he needed to be excersied otherwise arthristis would take over his legs. My grandma talked with my parents and they agreed to get me him…
The day that i got buck (in pic)...i thought i was just going by ruths to ride, i didn’t expect to go home a horse owner! He is such a sweet horse and i love my parents (and ruth and grandma) with all my heart for giving me him.
Now i’m fourteen and a lot different from that eleven year old i used to be. I love my horse and his arthris is getting better everyday. Heck, my MOM even rides him. Just remember…
Dreams can come true!
I worked from age 11 to age 14 saving money to buy a horse. Before that I lived and breathed all things horse.
It’s a long story about what all happened, but suffice to say, I’ll never forget one of my summers with my horse when I and my friend rode every day with our mares and their foals all over the countryside. It was…magic.
