"I paid for classes at the community college out of pocket, which really helped decrease the amount in loans I'll have to pay back."

How I did it: By paying for classes out of pocket while in community college, I won't have to pay back as much in loans.  Now that I'm at a 4-year university, I can't afford not to use loans.
