I’ve got two movies I want to watch together, and my good friend has suggested a third, so now all I need to do is set up a time to do it (which is, of course, the hard part).

dee is going down memory lane
How I did it: it was on our way back from Turkey, on a 14 hour flight,.i hubby and i didnt want to sleep so we watched movies after movies and between us we watched 5-7 movies i think...and becos it was an in flight experience, i got access to international movies in Arabic, French, Hindi and of course English...i watched mamma mia on the plane! SophiaMermaid is TARA!
How I did it: My sister and I used to look at all the showings of whatever we wanted to see at a given theater, and then plan out a route, and then go see 12 hours of movies in one go. Exhausting, but stupid fun, just for the ridiculousness of it.Conversely, we'd sit down on our couch with a pile of, say Aliens or Lethal Weapons movies and have a themed marathon. Read how I did it…

Last night, with my boyfriend, watched:
- Jumanji (his DVD)
- Mrs Doubtfire (my DVD)
- Batman Forever (his DVD)
I was getting really tired, I think we started watching them a bit late… but I managed to stay awake to watch them all (drinking some glasses of water helped). That’s 3 movies in a row.
Also today we watched (both his DVDs):
- Batman
- Batman Returns
We were both tired and didn’t want to watch any more than that in a row again though, and then he went home too.
All the movies were good. Mrs Doubtfire I’ve seen quite a lot of times (it’s one of my favourites!), but I hadn’t seen the others. I wouldn’t want to sit through lots in a row all the time, but it was worth doing… despite being tired.
2 movies in a row before, (and I’ve watched several episodes of a TV show in a row), but maybe it’d need to be at least 3 to be a movie marathon…
Dead By Your Hands is minding her own business and quite frankly, so should you!
I do this every Halloween with my own personal Halloween and other horror movies marathon. Halloween rocks! Both the movie, and the holiday.
I have been collecting movies over the years copying them to my computer and i think in the holidays i will curl up on my sofa with my PC attached to the plazma and put all of them on (not a once:) ) My theme will be comedy so i will have to collect some more funny movies
Jackass 2
Amercain Pie (any got them all expect Beta House)
Maybe some Mock the Week or Live at the Apollo
Some Monty Python
And that is pretty much it but how many friends???
I’ve done this so many times.. Just curled up on the couch with a buddy and went through a ton of movies (and food!)
Moondial1980 is at work
Ok it was over-night, but was worth doing :)
Would have made more sense to do it for Charity
huntermardimorgan is maybe getting on top of things
I would not be able to wrangle in enough friends all at once for this to be fun.
When UNI is less hectic for everyone, I’ll think about doing it.

We did our movie marathon yesterday, and it went over very well. Most people liked Yojimbo the best, one of us preferred A Fistful of Dollars, and even though we all liked Last Man Standing it was definitely the weaker of the three. But it almost didn’t happen, because my friend who was supposed to bring his copy of Yojimbo cancelled on me an hour before everyone showed up. Luckily the local movie store had a copy left on the shelf, so I ran over as quickly as I could and picked it up. Also, while I was making spaghetti two more people cancelled, so we had WAY too much spaghetti. But then again, you can’t really ever have too much spaghetti, can you?
So despite a few hiccups, it was a big success. Everyone enjoyed it and a couple of people suggested we should do it again some time. I just have to think of another good theme, though.

Having it on Friday, July 4, which is not technically a holiday for me because I’m Canadian. But having a movie marathon is kind of like a party, right?
Anyhow, we’re watching 3 movies, sharing a common theme:Can you figure out the connection?
