watch that recycling box fill, watch those rubbish bags pile up – oh, so satisfying – applauds self
How I did it: Just went through my closets & everything else, and decided I no longer needed it. I have a hard time parting with things, I have always lived in a house full of random things that I have no use for, or wear. Let me tell you, it was HARD to part with a lot of it, even though I most likely hadn't seen it in years... Read how I did it…
How I did it: I am still doing this. It is an on going project. I have a box in the hallway and whenever I have time I go through things. things i don't want any more go in to the Goodwill box. There is criteria for keeping things too-like if it was a gift I must remember who it was from and still be friends with that person. More valuable things are set aside to be sold on ebay or other on-line sites. Read how I did it…
bluebelle25 is figuring out which goal to work on first
How I did it: I got a couple of friends together and we spent a gruelling couple of days going through EVERYTHING one room at a time. First it was a little overwhelming... how could I have accumulated SO MUCH JUNK??? And there were a lot of useful itmes too, that had been forgotten all about. My friends helped me keep a clear perspective as I made 2 piles (really what did I need and what could I part with, most was the latter). … Read how I did it…
How I did it: Finally looked at it and went "enough." Started going through and chucking it to the donation boxes. Its a good stress reliever as well when you want to throw away bad memories as well. Read how I did it…

...doesn’t mean it has to be full of boxes! Major declutter of said box room going on today.
I am continuing this. It is an ongoing process. I have box setting in the hallway to collect things I’m not using anymore. When it’s full I take it to Goodwill. If it’s particularly valuable then I post it for sale on an on-line classified list, like Craig’s List. If it doesn’t sell after a while, it too goes to Goodwill.

...who is delighted to have gorgeous linen shirts (which, sadly, are too small for me) from Boden to wear when she is teaching…so we are both pleased!

...with 2 big dustbin bags full of clothes. I have another bag with clothes to offer to my Mum, sis and daughter….if not wanted, they’ll go to the charity shop, too – clothes, that is, not the relatives

I’m donating or giving away a whole pile of clothes – this could become addictive ;-)
Sold ALL my old Barbie stuff… house, accessories, camper… yay! The dining room looks totally empty now!
I am moving in with my boyfriend so I have a reason to get rid of things. I have been to Goodwill at least 2 times and will probably make a 3rd trip soon.
I have also donated/made a sacrifice to the Gods of the City by posting FREE on a box of stuff we left in front of the house. It was gone by the time we got back from a hockey game. (There was some good stuff in there like a toaster and hand mixer.)
New strategy is to finish moving in with my boyfriend and then empty one or two boxes a week and really get organized.
Finally sold my old Lululemon yoga bag today. It’s a start! I already feel so much lighter without it, haha!

“I feel guilty throwing away old birthday and other greeting cards. Any suggestions on what I can do with them?”
