How to walk every morning
How I did it: A little effort and a little motivation. Good habits just like bad ones are strong reinforcers. You get up one day and next day the effort required would be a lot less. I was aware of it :-)

Took a shower before going out today.
7:45 AM – 8:20 AM
35 minutes
But I jogged. Yay~~ :D
New Goal: 10 days
Evan came with me this morning. We jogged a bit and then I went back out alone. I was constantly smiling at myself… And I can jog! I guess I’m not as nonathletic as I think I am. I was out for about 45 mins today. (:
My alarm went off at 6:30 AM, but I didn’t get myself out of bed until around 6:45. I brushed up and took a shower, 7:30 AM. Green tea, 7:55 AM.
Came back around 8:15 AM.
I was only out for about 20 minutes today, but that’s because I jogged. It’s not even 9 AM yet, and I have the whole day ahead of me. Lovely!
I overslept today. My first word of the day was “DAMN.”
I went out after drinking green tea and helping mom with the laundry. It was already 8:15 when I finally slipped on my sneakers and got all ready to go. I walked to the park, turned towards to the bicycle lane, jogged around Fireside and then came home. 9:50 AM.
35 Minutes. Good enough for my first day. (:
But I feel wonderful.
I love this. I feel re-energized.

and it feels terrific. I’ve lost 5 lbs doing this. Getting a dog forces you to walk, which is nice. Now I have an excuse to get outside.
My walking buddy and I used to walk up our steep hills for an hour every morning but she got married and moved two years ago. Have I been capable of going on my own? Well, evidently not. I need the discipline of having to meet someone up there, and having it early enough that 1)I’m not awake enough to figure out an excuse not to go, and 2) I get back early enough to get a good early start on the day. Any past 7:30 and I have a hard time regaining the day. But without anyone available I might need to rethink my “exercise routine”. You know, the one I don’t have.
