My loss a month later.  — 1 year ago

Well I still miss Desi greatly. It was really hard this past week. I put special collar covers on all my dogs for every holiday. And I didn’t feel right putting them on the dogs. I told myself not this time. But I know that when Easter rolls around I will battle the same feelings again.

My Desi Girl!!  — 1 year ago

I had to put my best friend to sleep. She was so young only 6 and a half. But multiple illnesses had forced my decision. I would have paid millions of dollars to keep her alive but comfortable and not suffering- but it was the vet that said she can’t battle this next disease. She had seizures as a young puppy, then had to have cosmetic surgery of sorts (DON”T ASK), then she experienced eposides of bloat, pancreaitis, diabetes and we kept getting the medicines to keep her alive. But when she progressed into Cushing Disease I was like what do we do for that. And I hated the answer. I set the date and took her home to break it to my family and so that we could spend one more week with her and make her favorite foods. I don’t cook for my family but I will cook special meals and treats for my dogs. Go figure maybe because they won’t complain if the meatballs are too burnt.I really going to miss her. She was my feet warmer at night. She was the only dog I know of that likes to be under the covers but at the foot of the bed.

I miss him so much, I wrote a poem about him for my english homework.
    Here it is:

    Goodbye, my best friend.
You were there up till the end.
I love you so, although you’re gone
    I can’t believe I lost you
    After nine long years.
I loved you like a brother
But you were closer to me.
With you I could share everything.
    But now an empty hole
Is where your heart once was.
You where the only friend I had
At least when we first moved.
    I’m singing a mournful song.
You were a protector, a warrior, a friend.
You and I still share a strong bond.
And know, wherever life takes me,
    I’ll always remember you.
    For you where a friend.
And you where there for me.
    And now, although you’re lost,
    You’re more than a memory.
I love you so, I couldn’t let go
But I know its what you’d want.
So now I say to you my friend,
    Goodbye
