funniculee is dredging up old memories of past literary loves
I’ve never found a 4 leaf clover the usual way…that is, growing in the grass.
I’ve only found 1 four leaf clover in my life. It was pressed into a lovely tiny old Modern Library copy of Cyrano De Bergerac which I bought at The Big Chicken Barn on a family trip to Maine.
Considering the size of The Big Chicken Barn, it’s just about the same as finding a needle in a haystack.
(Oh man, now I want to take a trip to Maine next summer and just camp near TBCB the whole time and browse and shop there every day…it is a pretty magical place if you enjoy used books.)

well one day when i was about to play hockey (we’ve never scored 1 point let alone won) some one found i 4 leaf clover and was going on and on about it then i thought i should try and look so i did and found one but i kept it to myself (not telling anybody) that day when we played hockey we won 5-0!! amazing!

so i started looking for one and i end up finding a 7 leaf clover. wtf right? well it dried out before i could press it and then the same thing happened with a 5 leaf clover. i just want to find a 4 leaf like seriously. i don’t think i’m being selfish!!! lol

I once found an entire patch of them in my parent’s backyard. That night there was a frost, and the next day they were gone – never to return. I was completely beside myself. I still spot them, at least a few each summer while I’m out and about. But, there will never be anything as amazing as that patch I found as a child.
