Hey, what if I don’t KNOW when I “consumed” something, but I know I consumed it. There should be an option, for “yeah I consumed it but I don’t know when.” Who keeps track of the exact moment of each consumption?!? Yeah, I keep a reading journal, but that’s about it and it only goes back a year or two. And sometimes I forget to write shit down. I want to input other info but it’s very annoying that I have to make up fake dates to do so.
And there should be an option or two between worth it or not. The world is not so evenly split.

The only current use of it is to document the books, movies, albums, etc I consumed through the years by creating a long list of them all without any other special features.
The Robots have much work in order to make this site worthy:
- There should be a way to rate the items from 1 to 10.
- Re-Designing the lame interface.
- Changing the site’s name to a more shorter catchy name (with 43 number in it)
- There should be a way to go through the sites data (something like “Zeitgeist”)
- The movies, books, albums consumed/in consumption should be shown by theatrical release date, popularity (or at least given an option to do this).
- I want to be able to find the users with taste similar to mine in books, movies, albums, etc…
- There should be a way to create a wish list that will contain all the books, movies, albums which one plans on seeing (by theatrical release date)
- The site database is synchronized with the Amazon one – which is great for books but not for new movies (the titles shown are only for the released DVDs) hopefully the movies database will be synchronized with IMDB.com

I like the site, although there’s not much you can do with it. I have it linked to my blog, so people can see what I’m reading/watching/listening to.

As I said in my last entry, it’s intriguing but the interface needs some work. I think/hope in time it will improve to 43T and 43P standards.
I’ve also noticed that some movies (as far as I can tell, movies that haven’t been released in the U.S. on DVD yet) I have added have disappeared from my list of items I have consumed. That is pretty annoying.

It’s an awesome site that is surprisingly underused. I think the Robot Co-Op should definitely integrate it with 43 Things. Check out my account on All Consuming.

Good in concept, but the interface isn’t nearly as slick or well-thought out as 43T or 43P. I’m not giving up yet, but waiting to see what the Robot Co-op team does with it.

I might change my mind if the FAQs on the site bother to answer Q.2 Why would I do this?

Till then, it reeks of a Milo Minderbinder plot. And while I maintain an account there, and hope one day to write a paper on it, similar to one I wrote on orkut – Butalia, S. (2004). The potential for marketers to exploit the emerging trend of online social networking groups
The sickening part is, you can’t blame anyone, ‘cuz you’re selling your own soul the devil. Then again, maybe I’m just not a subscriber to ‘The Consumerist Manifesto’. I keep the faith purely because of the affiliation to 43things, and my affinity to the boys at Robot Co-Op. It’s my way of making sure the bacon comes to the table.
All the same, I’d rather sit naked in a tree, distribute the free fruits and STAY CLEAR AWAY FROM THE CHOCOLATE-COVERED COTTON.
