I’m swimming at least two days a week. My stamina and swimming style is improving with each visit. I still can;t swim far but I am slowly improving. I can;t but envy the swimmers that can effortlessly do 30 plus laps. I will keep at it.
How to become a better swimmer
How I did it: I did it by swimming at my neighborhood recreation center pool at least 2-3 times a week consistently for about three months. I still go at least 2 days a week.
Lessons & tips: Take your time. It's not a race. Focus on form, not speed.
Resources: e-How. Great tutorials on perfecting your technique there.

I’m actually getting pretty good at this whole swimming thing. I’m still not comfortable going in the deep end, but I think that’s nerves more than anything else. There are, I think, four weeks left of swimming lessons, so hopefully by then I will be less chicken.
Sarah is overhauling her list
I went swimming, and did you know it was possible to forget how to swim? No joke. My arms were bashing away like pros but my legs… well, not so much. By the time we left, I think I’d gotten to grips with it a bit more by observing other people, but I’m not looking forward to going again. The only good thing to come from it was not dying from shame at wearing micro-shorts and a tankini top in public.
I’ve started taking swimming lessons! And it turns out that I’m actually a better swimmer than I thought I was. But I’m still not at all confident. But, hopefully, 6 weeks from now I will be.
There’s a pool in my new neighborhood and I’ve become obsessed with going swimming. Right now, I’m not pushing myself too hard. I’m working on coordinating my breathing and building up a bit of stamina.
Spent most of last splashing around on an idyllic tropical beach. Practice, practice.
When I was little, I was terrified of going underwater. I think it’s because my charming brothers liked to toss me into the swimming pool before I could swim. Grr. Anyway, I eventually got over that and taught myself how to swim as a teenager, but I’m still not a very strong swimmer. I’d like to get better.
can swim so-so, but my kids love the pool and i’d like to feel more comfortable with them in the water
I finally found some adult swimming lessons. I have been going for the last two weeks. I am finally learn how to swim properly! I bought a kickboard and am going to practice in the pool in my neighborhood.
I hate swimming at Walnut Creek Aquatics. I’m a member there, so i pretty much stuck going there for a while. Everytime i swim there, i have an allergic reaction, it sucks. My nose runs and i sneeze the rest of the night. This definitely makes it harder to get better.
