I ended up managing a bar for a while too. As cool as this goal was, it’s definitely something I would be cautious about getting stuck with. It’s not the best career choice, and I’d hate to still be working bars when I’m 30.

beautifullyconfident let's do this
But I need a job, bad. I’m sure it can’t be that hard to learn how to bartend. I also understand that it’ll take away my weekend nights, but thats okay because I don’t really do anything anyway. I’m going to start looking into the schools. I know for a fact there is one by steven’s old house, and I’m pretty sure it only takes a few weeks to do. Who knows…we shall see.
Graciek26 is in Europe. Not sure how many goals are being accomplished though.
Interesting. I’m starting to be trained on bar at my job. I still have several months to go until I’m 21, but the manager decided to train me anyway. Funny how when you put something out there it comes around. :)
Asheia is enjoying her new obsession!
I had a party this weekend at my place. I made drinks for everyone. I kept making a variety of drinks I had read about, but not tried. At one point, one of my friends asked why I wasn’t a bartender.
That made me happy inside.
I’m in college now, and I need some sort of income to keep up with my bills. Since I have a few night courses, I would ideally work weekends and a few weeknights. Should I opt to pass a bartending course, I know where I can sign up and get a discount on admission? Or should I apply right away for the job and work on fewer tips and pay now?
There’s a bartending school near where I live but I don’t know how they do age limits (only 18) but I figure it would be a fun and useful way to make some money during college.
I am moving to Toronto next september and would love to learn bartending there.
I have selected a school from the internet and it looks promising so If anybody has already done it before, guide me.
Its mainly for personal hobby and interest but if I could get some money out of it then even better.
Its called the Toronto institute of bartending and here is the webpage-

I plan on moving to Los Angeles in a little under a year to pursue acting. But I know that I’m definitely going to need a job to keep my head above water while I’m auditioning for parts. I’ve always wanted to learn how to tend bar, and LA seems like it will be the perfect place to do it.
I think I’m going to get myself into some lessons and maybe pick up a weekend job somewhere for the experience.

Like most people I know I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth. And I’ve been having a hard time figuring out how to pay for college tuition along with my car/rent/insurance. So I’m going to finally start bartending school in a few weeks. Hopefully I can pay off my car and save some money before next semester.
So i got to learn to bartend from a friend :)
at first it was a bit confusing… remembering all the drinks and not putting the wrong thing into drink… but now i got it down.
I totally love making drinks :) and people keep telling me how good they are!

“I'm toying with the idea of bartending this summer, but I have no idea what to expect, so I was wondering, what is it like to work as a bartender (especially as a female)?”
