Just replacing soda with water is hard at first, especially since soda is EVERYWHERE and we’re conditioned to see it as a treat… but after a month or so, you wonder how you ever enjoyed the stuff.

How I did it: Bought a large (72 oz) water bottle from walmart for $6 and filled it and only let myself have that. It worked out rather well. So I didn't feel too deprived I kept juices and such so I would have something with flavor if I got sick of water. Read how I did it…

I accomplished this goal in October, 2006 and I’ve never looked back. It was at that point that I started on a new healthy liver diet. I switched from sodas to a mixture that was 6 oz 100% cranberry (from Trader Joes) and 26 oz water. I drink about 2 quarts of that a day but tend to drink less on my weekends. I guess that the mixture has enough taste (it’s very sour) that it makes for a great substitute for soda. It’s also high in antioxidants and very good for you.
I feel better and oh so hydrated. It’s hard with the 50cent pop machines at work though… damnthem!
GQkudzu seems to be jamming 40 hours into a 2-day work week.
My 2005 New Year’s Resolutions included giving up soda. I drank my last on Dec. 31, 2004, and haven’t had another since. I also started walking and then running again. Within the first five months of 2005, I had lost 40 lbs.! I ran my first ever 5K in Sept. 2005.
I’ve given up on soda… I did it once about 4 years ago gave it up for about 4 months… Lost about 30 pounds… Then suddenly lol my beloved aunt (which I’ve now lost =[) came from Mexico to visit and we had a little party to celebrate then well I felt bad to not accompany them with a soda and I did… Well let’s just say I didn’t go back to water lol… But I started since a week and 3 days ago and I’m pretty good about temptations virtually I have none. Once in a while I drink Green Tea w/ Citrus or milk or Cramberry juice… Literally not much… I stick with water 24/7. A glass somewhere close by. I’m hoping to stick to this forever. Yes it’s hard to even take it in while I’m writing but I started with soda. Pretty soon I’m going to further my eating for carbs… And I hope I’ll do well. Wish me luck…. Good luck to the rest of you!!!
I try my best to do this but I keep failing!! Whenever I see 1, I want to avoid but… it usually ends up in my tummy!! Sigh…
Im working on this one, ive stopped buying big 2 litre bottles of soda competely and try not to have more than 2 bottles a week and so far this seems to be working. Im also trying to have a bottle of squash or water with me particularly in the car as then i have no need/excuse to buy and pepsi

This was my new years resolution for 2006. I do slip and have a soda, but very rarely. It is much better for you to have water. Drinking more water helps raise your metabolism and keeps you going.
*The Parting Of The **Sensory** summer? allready?!
I became a vegetarian about two years ago and gradually stopped eating and drinking other things like soda, potato chips, and donuts… for the most part I have been pretty good about staying soda, donut, and potato chip free… And now if I drink soda I have grown to dislike the taste because it has so much corn syrup. This is definitely a worth while goal.
