I started this Thursday evening and finished Tuesday morning. That may not seem fast, but I am a slow reader, and I have a full time job and dogs to walk. Was 15 minutes late for work because I had to finish Tuesday. What a wonderful book.

The stacks of paperback and hardback books grow weekly. At some point, I’m going to replace the unread books that hold up our bed frame with books I’ve already read, and then the stacks will really take off, like bean stalks. I make no promises not to buy more books. But I look forward to reading those I already have.
For a time, the stack was growing fast. Then my wife reduced it by about two-thirds to prop up our damaged bed frame. So not too much real progress with the first half of this one.
I’m one of those people who loves to buy books…and then rarely finishes reading them. I’m so bad, in fact, that I continue buying more new books, even though I know I have dozens I haven’t read yet. But, I’ve been getting better, lately, at refraining from adding more to my collection. In fact, I can now go to a bookstore, look at the books and magazines and walk out empty-handed. But, I still have all these books on my shelves that I need to read. Fortunately(?), most of the books I have no longer reflect my interests and values, so I guess I can ignore them and not feel too guilty about it.
