Am pruning my goals to reflect current window on life. I have one meal I do well in the slow cooker….beef stew, am happy with that. Would like to do a chicken recipe some time but dont want pressure about seeking out other recipes 10 months ago

... I rendered leaf lard in my slow cooker and realized I seldom use this small appliance besides bringing it to a relatives house for someone else to use for a holiday meal. My husband has made chili and bolognese sauce in it but I prefer using the stovetop for those things. The only reason I used the slow cooker yesterday was because I didn’t have enough burners for everything I was cooking.
A slower cooker was something I lived without until a few years ago and need to make more of an effort to learn how to use it. 11 months ago
I don’t have a picture nor do I have a recipe but I basically browned the roast in a pan with salt and pepper. Cut up some onion and garlic and spread it on the bottom of the pan and put the roast on top. Then I poured a mixture of a 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar, 1/4 cup honey mustard and 1/4 water with some herbs like a garlic mix, rosemary, thyme, and basil. I set it on low for about 7-8 hours. The liquids were used to make gravy (the balsamic and honey mustard flavours were subtle but present) and it was quite good. I’d maybe add more liquids next time though, perhaps some beef broth. 21 months ago

or rather I need to remember how to eat properly again.
I vacillate between being on a strict diet and watching what I eat to saying oh bow-locks and eating all the wrong things
I was always a big girl and lost weight through hard work and lots of determination, I kept it off by never losing sight of wanting to be thinner….
I put loads on when going to uni and meeting hubby. I only lost it again 9 years later in prep to have a baby, who is now nearly 2!!
I now need to eat to live, to be healthy and feel stronger. I feel shattered and not that well. A small cough has turned into a heavy chest cold and I blame it on lack of rest and bloody poor diet!!!
I do love slow cooked meat and veggies, so lord knows why I havent done this sooner, but that aside I want to look at cooking up slow cooked joints with lots of veg and some pulses and take it from there
i also came across a low fat diet book called the engine 2 diet, written by an american fireman…. the root veg lasagne is raved about, have been meaning to have a go. I will look at this after my birthday 2 years ago
