How to solve rubik's revenge

How I did it: I learned to do the 3x3x3 from the pogobat video. It was fun learning how to do that, but I felt like if I'd put in the work I might have gotten it by myself.
So, I bought a 4x4x4 on Amazon.com and used the algorithms from the original and discovered some new ones by fiddling with it. At the time I figured stuff out about switching the layers, but afterward I couldn't remember exactly what it was I did... grr

Hint: Learn how to do the 3×3 first. A lot of that knowledge can be applied to the 4×4 (until you run into parity errors XO ). You can actually get the revenge to a point where you can solve it just like a 3×3.

and that is to use a site to help me solve it until i know how. When i’ve solved my rubiks revenge without help i’ll mark this as done :). The site im using is Solving the Rubik’s Revenge (4×4x4) and above is a pic of my rubiks revenge at this point in time (not for long though :P)

I didnt really know what a rubix cube is besides a cube with smaller squares on it. So i walked into the shop and brought myself what i thought was a rubix cube, although it turns out that i got myself the rubix cube revenge which instead of being a 3 by 3 is a 4 by 4 so looks like this goal will take a little longer than what i thought it would to get it done.
I didnt want to use a book to get this done but it looks like i might have to :(, anyone else get tricked by this rubix cube revenge?
