I would like to be able to juggle three Indian clubs as well as I can juggle three balls. 5 years ago

tigrisdeaStill 1c, 2b

Getting kind of better with one club and two balls. Can flash more often than yesterday and doing a little more than just flashing. Good good 5 years ago

tigrisdeaOops, this should be before 1c, 2b

Forgot to say I gave it a go yesterday with three clubs. Nearly managed a flash. Dropped them a lot, but thankfully didn’t hit myself :) 5 years ago

tigrisdeaOne club, two balls

Tried a different approach today, using one club and two balls. I’m slowly but surely getting there. Managed a flash or two, which was really encouraging, but then it started to rain, so…more tomorrow. Fingers crossed for no rain 5 years ago

I have now bought myself clubs, so when they arrive, I will start learning :D I’m looking forward to this… 5 years ago

TaltosVTFlash!

I’ve been lax in practicing (again). Decided that I should get out at least once this week. Spent some time with two balls and one club, getting the hang of it again. I can do a run of about 16-17 before dropping. Not great, but better than last summer.

I decided to try two clubs, one ball. I didn’t have much luck, dropping props left and right. For the heck of it, I tried with just clubs. To my surprise, I flashed on my third or fourth try. I tried a few more times, but couldn’t do it again. Going back to two clubs and one ball, though, I was able to run 3 or 4 times before dropping.

I’ll keep practicing with one club, two balls, and two clubs, one ball some more. 5 years ago

TaltosVTA Different Approach

I haven’t been getting far with two clubs. The fact that it’s been raining on the days I’m not working hasn’t helped either, as I don’t have space inside to practice.

The weather was nice after work today though, so I had a bit of time in the back yard. I decided to try a different approach to learning clubs.

My daughter attends circus camp each summer. Last year, when I dropped her off, I noticed one of the instructors teaching one of the children how to do clubs. The girl could already run a three ball cascade with no problem, so the instructor challenged her to replace one of the balls with a club instead. Once she had that down, she swapped a second ball for a club. Within half an hour, she was juggling a three club cascade.

At the time, I chalked it up to the power of being 12 years old. This afternoon, though, the memory came back to me, so I gave it a try. I didn’t make it to three clubs (yet), but I was able to do a decent run of two balls and a single club within about 10 minutes.

Tomorrow is World Juggling Day, so I’ve promised myself that I would spend at least an hour juggling, so I should be able to get in some more practice. 5 years ago

TaltosVTWorking on Two

Added a second club today. Going much more smoothly than the last time I attempted to learn clubs. 6 years ago

TaltosVTGetting Started

Started tossing a single club over the weekend. When I get to a point where I can comfortably make 50 catches, I’ll add a second club. 6 years ago

CNSenseiJust started....

I’ve been juggling balls for about a year now, doing some three and four ball tricks, and I just got clubs for Christmas….Wow

A – This is fun
B – I can’t quite get all three moving at the same time.
C – OWW! My hands hurt.

Note to others – I just read, (too late, I’d learned the hard way) that taking all rings off first avoids a lot of pain!

Off I go to try again! 6 years ago

Gareth ReynoldsSlow improvement

I seem to be competent enough with a single club, but then again I don’t thank that it’s really difficult. What I do have trouble with is keeping the rotation even, as soon as one spins too much or not enough I overcompensate with the next and everything turns to custard. 6 years ago

Hamish Rickerby90 minutes...

...of practice and I can officially juggle clubs. 17 throws and catches, I call that juggling. It’s not necessarily smooth, or elegant, and I have to walk about a bit following the clubs (I blame the wind!), but I can do it.

And I only got hit in the face 4 times (one time made my lip bleed tho) and my thumb is really sore (I mashed it between 2 clubs).

So, lots more practice required, but this is done! 6 years ago

Hamish RickerbyI have just purchased...

Some clubs

And a book called Club Juggling Step By Step. I hope they arrive soon. I got them from Jesters.com. 6 years ago

YEAHH! Finally I successfully juggled clubs two days ago! But I wanna keep it on my list until I can do it confidently… Then it’s on to knives and fire clubs… :p

IT IS SO MUCH FUN! 6 years ago

olivepeople1 club made...

2 to go. I can’t really say “hey, I juggle club” now can I! 6 years ago

olivepeopleI bought the tape!!

As per my entry from, oh, a few months ago, I am making my own clubs. Yay! I just bought the various kinds of tape required this evening. All I need is enough newspaper and I’ll be beating down the door named “checking this goal off the list”!! Right on. 6 years ago

olivepeopleMake my own?

Before rushing off to the e-store to buy clubs, I just might try making my own to get the technique first… here’s the link I just found, in case anybody else is interested! http://www.crazytieguy.com/clubs.htm 7 years ago

olivepeopleIt's been on my mind...

I keep seeing that commerical where everybody in the office and at home are juggling everyday kinds of objects. I see them using the club style for the longer objects and think ‘man, I wanna do that too’. I’ve decided, it’s gonna happen this summer. Hurrah – a goal for my goal! 7 years ago

winkypooHiggins Brothers?

I am determined to learn how to juggle clubs this summer. I tried a couple summers ago, but I didn’t have any of my own so it was hard to practice. I think Higgins Brothers sells them online. My first paycheque this summer… is going toward juggling clubs. 7 years ago

olivepeoplejust seems like a cool thing to do!

I’m not sure how to get into this. I’ve never tried it and so far haven’t found an outlet or resource for juggling within the city. Then again, I haven’t looked beyond the internet yet.

It seems like a great added dimension to the entire juggling realm. :) Sounds like I need to find me some clubs! 7 years ago

evilalA question

I can do a few catches but i just can't seem to get fluent... any tips? 7 years ago

ragsyou'll never go back

once you do clubs, balls just seem kinda boring. it’s like…drinking nothing but water your whole life, and then having a sip of mountain dew. you can’t just go back to water. =) 7 years ago

garthbreaksclubs are to balls as coffee is to water

If you enjoy juggling beanbags/balls, do not pass GO but rather proceed straight to clubsville.
Honestly folks, it’s the bomb – with enough patience it becomes just as comfortable and natural as conventional juggling.
Plus, there’s something so much more gratifying about the satisfying “thwack” of a club handle landing squarely in the palm of your hand.
Oh, and passing clubs is surreal – things just flying everywhere and somehow being able to pluck em mid-air and maintain the rhythm just feels incredible. 8 years ago

jadenIt's a lot of fun

It didn’t take all that long to learn, and I even juggled flaming torches. 8 years ago

Gareth SimpsonS'Easy

Get some decent, light clubs.

With some practice it really isn’t any harder than balls. 8 years ago

JaneQjuggling without pain....

I can juggle balls, cantelope and onions like no bodies business- but I have short arms. Juggling clubs, stay rolling some of the time and some of the time just wack the XXXX out of my head and nose….OW 8 years ago

StacieI can juggle clubs briefly

but I want to be able to juggle them like I juggle balls, easy and without thinking. 8 years ago
