I think I might buy a digital camera and take it with me everywhere. I’ve been dating my girlfriend for over a year and a half, and I think we might only have one or two pictures of us total! I don’t want to get into film, as I’ve taken a course before and it didn’t do a ton to satisfy me. I just want to take more pictures on a “point and click” digital camera and have them for whatever. I might start a Flickr, too, because well, why not?

I always wondered what are macros in my digital camera. I finally got to know how cool they can be! It requires patience and a really steady hand to get a nice shot.

So, I am taking a trip to Japan. I have a digital camera a Fuji FinePix Z. I am just now learning how to use it. Any ideas about taking good photos of people and things for a clumsy amateur?
This is truly a trip of a life time for me and I am interested in any ideas.
Thank you

kojishi is deciding what she wants to do.
After having my camera fail twice and seeing how amazing digital photography is these days, compared to the old traditional style, I wonder why I am stuck in traditional ways- except because cameras are cheaper and do not feel weighty and cumbersome?

Expensive cameras don’t make good photographs. I’ve heard that a lot, but I’m looking forward to having more control over the camera controls and learning more about exposure. I’m excited about upgrading from my old SD. I’m reading Scott Kelby’s Digital Photography Book, so hopefully will get better over time.

My camera is, wow, probably about five years old now. It still works fine for me, but obviously it doesn’t have the resolution or features I’d like in order to take better pictures.
I saw something recently on a walk, I went home, found my camera, then went back and took a picture. It was just some scenery I found really beautiful, and really unexpectedly. So I think that’s a sign that I need a good camera, one that I can take with me everywhere and use to learn photography, instead of just snapping pretty things.
