How to learn how to draw manga
How I did it: Obviously I'm not really done - 6 months isn't enough to be some sort of professional but I can free hand draw and make it look good so I'd say i've learned enough to say I can draw manga now I just need to draw better
To start I was just tracing and I've continued to trace even after free handing, but I spent a lot of time tracing I never looked for anything online because often manga is naughty I found some books here and there but mostly they were also filled with inappropriate content and so I only have like 3 or 4 I use to get tips, trace, and so on
Once I finally felt comfortable with how they turned out through tracing I started to "attempt to draw free hand the first few turned out just Horrible and I mean HORRIBLE... I later figured out these drawing books that have you start with like a pre body of nothing but circles just weren't working so I tried to do my own method of creating a body then placing clothes on it and it turned out ok it took some time to segway into the How to Draw way of doing it and even then it's not perfected
I'm not saying I can draw well or even ok but I can finally freehand something that doesn't look like barf and so I'm content in saying I can draw manga, next goal Drawing manga "well"

Ive gotten pretty good at drawing manga,i’m starting on a book and ive done the first page of it,it looks pretty good, but it’s just missing something…i can’t say what, maybe it’s that it doesn’t look 3D enough, most of it looks flat, unless i take my time on it.but when i get a scanner i can shade it on photoshop.if anybody wants a website to look at for how to draw manga, here are some:

the key to great manga is PRACTICE!!!!!!!!!!!=)
btw, that pic i added,i drew that and took a pic of it and put it on photoshop and colored it,it’s the back of my comic,or it was,i would’ve put a different one,but it didnt look as good
i’ve been drawing on and off these days, well at least i’ve been drawing for like two hours daily before droping it…
i’m just making sketches at this point, i even drew some storyboard-like ones that go with the story i’ve got in mind, still it is very frustrating to have it laid out and not being able to give the drawings a feeling, even the one i’ve worked in the most look dreadfully sketchy…
the major issue i think now is that either i draw too little or i draw too much… i don’t want to draw realistically, i’m aiming for the manga style after all, yet it gets on my nerves to see the drawing and thinking i should be doing something more or less and not know what is it…
either way, i AM practicing (don’t let the bugs get you down), and got a pretty looking skull just today, i don’t have a scanner but when i get my hands on one i’ll upload a couple of drawings so you guys can see…

well, after years of fleeing from drawing (at all) three months ago i got back on track, i took a couple of drawing courses and now i’m taking on some online manga ones… it’s gonna be all K..
i’ll keep you posted…
I was really happy when I went round Dorcia’s house and looked trough all my old drawings- such an improvement!!!
And when I drew something for Dorcia (who’s drawing has also come in leaps and bounds and she can draw really cool mangaish styles now) she and her brother loved it!
So I drew them another one! I was really happy that they liked it and people face to face like my manga- I haven’t had that in ages- since school- and I’ve improved a lot since then too! So basically… ... yay!
In my quest to practice practice practice I have come far, very far. I decided it was time, so I got out my pencil and tried to draw one of my fave DBZ characters in Akira Toriyama style, taking into account what I had taught myself about how to draw him from various pictures I have.
And it came out as a sucess! Hey, it’s no A.T, but it’s ok! I’m so happy- bu this is not the end! I must keep practicing!
