Kyle17 life is more than a game of win or lose.
I got my project approved now I just have to get it done.
How I did it: When
I was 12 years old I joined Boy Scout Troop 410 which was one of the many troops near my home. As a member of Troop 410 I attended weekly
meetings with the troop where I would participate in a lesson or
activity planned by the adult leaders and older scouts. These
activities were designed to teach me a skill that would help me progress towards the rank of Eagle Scout. Whether the skill being
taught was revealed at the start of the meeting and then practiced
directly, (knot tying), or hidden in the activity and revealed later,
(using carpet squares as "stepping stones" and trying to
cover a certain distance) I left every meeting having a slightly
better sense of exactly what was required to progress through the
ranks and eventually reach Eagle.

I finished the work on my project, and now only need to do my board of review and scoutmaster conference.

God! Procrastination is setting in. I just have one merit badge left, but for my eagle project, I just need to type it up and get it approved by the committee, but its so boring and I have a year and a half til my 18th.

Got all the badges I need except for Camping. Once I get that and my eagle project done I’ll be set. The write up is hard, but I’ll get there.

I only need to finish my eagle project and complete the camping badge. Once I give my five minute speech on Monday, I’ll have the Communications badge. :)

Only 2 eagle required merit badges left and my eagle project and I’ll be set.
I will be Life in September and am finished with all of my non required merit badges. At 16 I will be rushing a bit to get my Eagle but I am not too worried about that. The last camp out I finally got my Brotherhood and 6 badges in a week. Things are starting to smooth out and the becoming an Eagle seems to be more of a reality.
Joe Twas brillig and the slithy toves...
I got left behind in scouting early on, along with my whole year of scouts in the troop, so the people who joined a year after me (for the most part) already have their eagles, or are close to getting it. I got my First Class about two years ago right before a high adventure trip where it was necessary, and my Star one year ago, making me among the lowest ranked on our Philmont trek (though not the youngest), just earned my Life rank in February, and I know that I must just get the rest over with. It is tough though, I have to find time for everything, currently I am attempting to get an idea for an eagle project, and I still have plenty of required badges left to obtain. I guess the best thing to do is just buckle down and get to work.
I’m currently First Class and need to get those Merit Badges out of the way. I need to work on my motivation and find time to do them.
