become a recognised artist

I’m about to give up on this one, because it’s no longer important to me. So here’s my last entry on it.
I really want to be recognised because I honestly think I deserve it. Some might call that immodest, but. Yeah.
I have totally left the idea of being an artist and I really want to put all my energy into my graphic design work. :)

My medium being the glorious word.

This would be my biggest career aspiration at the moment, to have my art recognised and be just a little famous. If some critics new my name, even if all they said was “yeah she’s nice” that would be enough. I’d put the article up on my website, and finally be able to have a press section.
I made a book cover the other week, and the public on the internet votes for whose cover design will be published. I think I’m up against 16 or so others. I’ll get $300 US for it which would be just excellent but it’s really about getting published and having something to say on my website.

I thought I was on my way a full year ago, and these days it feels like it’ll never happen…
This kind of goal takes patience, though. Hell, it probably wont even happen until after I’m dead or something…

I might be on my way. I’ve started getting some of my work out there- I’ve created one book cover and have been comissioned for another by the same author. I’m not overly picky about the type of art I’m known for, but I hope it will be viewed in a possitive light.
