Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Sandy GabrielliWolves in the Garden

Listening to online radio – Cool as Folk
Great song on by The Deadly Syndrom called Wolves in the Garden that starts…

You say you’re going to
The garden, and I should come and play
I feel like I should tell you there,
There were wolves there yesterday

We walked and I said nothing
I didn’t want to hurt the mood
I know we can’t outrun them
But the flowers smell so good “

I really need to figure out my finances. 7 years ago

Sandy Gabriellilearning ruby on rails

OK Keith you inspired me. Here is an obvious thing to do. I’ll work through the ruby on rais tutorial. There is a local company looking for 3 developers. They’ll probably have to replace one in a few months, so I’ll get ready. There is also a company locally looking for entry level developers, which I’m not, but consulting would be possible. I’m downloading it and installing it. Don’t remember if I have mySQL on this system. 7 years ago

Sandy Gabriellino responses

I applied for 3 jobs this week and got no responses. I did get a response from someone who wants to collaborate on projects, which is great. Guess I’m going to have to actually think about the work instead of just show up. Create a job for myself. Its what works. 7 years ago

Sandy Gabriellimonthly shortages needs to be addressed

I’m short every month. I will find a way to earn an extra $1000 by the end of the month. All legal and real(not scams) will be investigated. I have skills. There is plenty of work out there. This is going to happen. 7 years ago
