Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

AmyBK8899thank you!!

your support was much appreciated.
The walk was great, the weather cleared up just in time, and I think this was the biggest turnout yet. 7 years ago

AmyBK8899walk is TOMORROW

and I didn’t reach even halfway to my goal.

But my team did! Our goal was $1500, and we raised over $1700, which is wonderful. Thanks to everyone for your support!

If you’d still like to sponsor me and help find a cure for ovarian cancer, here is my personal link page- Amy’s page

AmyBK8899not quite halfway

I’m at $200, which is not quite halfway to my goal of $500. My team’s goal is $1500.00, and we’re at almost $1100.00.

Anything would be appreciated! $1, $5, it doesn’t matter.

And if anyone is in the Philly region and would like to walk, join our team The Spiraling Butterflies! The more the merrier!

AmyBK8899Less than 2 weeks left

I’m walking with my team from last year, The Spiraling Butterflies, in memory of my friend’s mother Carol.

The Walk for the Whisper in Philly is organized by NOCC. Here’s what the NOCC does (pulled from their website):
NOCC Goals

  • Provide the medical community and general population with a national resource focused solely on ovarian cancer. Offer complete and accurate information regarding ovarian cancer
  • Raise awareness about the incidence, prevalence, and clincial presentations of ovarian cancer
  • Initiate patient/physician discussions about the risk factors and symptoms of ovarian cancer
  • Obtain more funding for:
    o Patient and public education
    o Professional education
o Quality of life for ovarian cancer survivors

Each year 15,000 women die from ovarian cancer. We can change this!
Help me make a difference! Every little bit counts. 7 years ago

AmyBK8899give up your Starbucks for a day

and help make a difference!

I will be walking in the Walk For The Whisper in Philadelphia on Sept. 15th, which benefits ovarian cancer research. I’m walking in memory of my friend’s mother, who died a few years ago.

Carol was a sweet woman. She taught me how to make challah when I was little. It was heartbreaking during her struggle, and I will always admire her for the way she kept her spirits up. She died a few months after her first granddaughter was born. I remember how proud and happy she was at Makayla’s naming, and I’m sorry her grandkids won’t ever get to know her.

Please donate anything you can- $1, $5, $10. every little bit counts. Help save someone’s mom today!

AmyBK8899it's here again!

On Sept. 15th I will be participating in the Walk For The Whisper 2007, in memory of my friend’s mother. My team is the “Spiraling Butterflies.”

Last year not only did I make my $500 fundraising goal, I surpassed it! Hoping for the same this year. And this year I won’t be walking pregnant. :)
