Well, cheerleading is coming up, and I`d really love to become more flexible. I think the first step is to do a split! Today is my first day, and so far I`m almost there, except for a tiny bit of space. Ahhh!!
How to learn to do a split
How I did it: I just tried one day. I decided I wanted to and then I did it. Of course I had to stretch and everything first. But it was very fulfilling to be one of two people I know who could do it! Really it just takes time. Also I was wearing socks. And if you want to get up just roll on over!
Lessons & tips: Do it on a hardwood floor or the gym. Then just practice going down little by little.

There are 8 pictures and directions on all of the stretches you should do to get the PERFECT split.
Well, this is not going that well. I was stretching every day but wasn’t really seeing any difference so I’ve kind of stopped. I need to start again, I guess. Not going to get to my goal if I’m not trying!
I don’t really know why I want to do this, I just really do. I’ve never been able to even though I took gymnastics and did cheerleading for years. I guess I’d like to feel the accomplishment of it, and also I guess I associate being flexible to being healthy and strong. Although, stretching out my splits is really killing my knees. Maybe I’m too old!
i joined my school gymnastics team last year and am finally able to do a side split~
well, for all those who want to learn.
try stretching regularly. like after waking up. usually, i do:
1. butterfly stretches, put your feet together and bring your nose as close to the floor as possible. hold.
2. put your legs together and reach for your toes. hold.
3. spread your legs as wide as you can, as if trying to do a split. bend as low as your body allows and hold.
you may want to have someone to hold on to while trying to hold the position. also, it would be a good idea to jog awhile to warm up your muscles.
good luck then.
SWoo07 feeling emPOWERed! Like i could do anything.... MAYBE CHANGE THE WORLD
So I haven’t been doing this at all but in my quest to get my body in shape i’m gonna plan on working on this… I just need to find Consistency… So i’m gonna try and come up with a routine maybe before bed or something.. Wish Me Strength!
