I wrote a big fat essay trying to figure this out, and for now I figure I’ve got it down as much as possible, here’s the abstract, enjoy.
Abstract:
Written is an essay describing the philosophical meaning of growing old and dying, but from a religious and psychological point of view, by melding these with past philosopher’s views it can be shown that ignorance being traded for intelligence leads to necessary progression, and that the mind is not afraid of death because it stops progression, but because the mind is bestowed with an incredible will to survive. This desire to survive is the seed that leads not only to injustice, but also to progression. The evil it contains cannot be cancelled out by anything internal, thus it is necessary for one to consciously battle with the will to survive to ensure it does not lead to digression ending with injustice, and destroying progression.
