So now that I have a bit of extra me time with the new job I’ve gotten back around to the website. I sat down today and did some of the layout and design and also decided on the way I want to code it. More specifically I decided I didn’t want to do all the coding myself. Over the years I’ve learn my fair share of programming languages (basic, visual basic, html, c, c++, java, xml) and I just didn’t want have this end up as a chore to upkeep. So I decided to go with a content management system (cms). More specifically I decided to go with Joomla. It will allow me a great degree of flexibility in implementing my design and it will allow me to focus on what really makes or breaks any website, content. If you’re ever interested in making your own website I would highly recommend this route.

How I did it: I started a blog at blogger because i thought that the stuff I wanted to add to my website would fit better in a blog format rather than a website. I've started editing and posting to it and i'm gonna add my items from here too :) Read how I did it…

How I did it: First, I became an obsessive fan of Harry Potter. I bookmarked a directory of Harry Potter fansites. When I saw that many of these sites were run by mere kids, I decided to take it upon myself and make a fansite of my own. I registered with a free website hosting provider and used the basic tools they provided. From there, I became self-taught in common html codes. A photo imaging software was also necessary to obtain in order to create m… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I did a 4 year study called 'Multimedia' in my homecountry Holland. I developped a lot of flash websites and even worked for a big company in LA. I stopped making them tho because the Marketing world is nothing for me. Read how I did it…

How I did it: When I bought my MacBook Pro, I took into consideration all of the multimedia capabilities and it's integration of how well they gel with each other. I movie works well with Iphoto and Iweb, etc. It was more pick the feel, then drag and drop pics, movies, sounds, etc. Then it was writing some descriptions to go along with the media. The hard part was learning the web hosting stuff and how to load it on the net. Other than that, pretty sim… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I looked for an appropriate name on bluehost.com and got them to host my site for around $100/year (cheap!). Then I used an iweb template to create my site. I used mostly blog type pages and tailored the pages to suit me. It was relatively easy to move everything around the way I wanted it. Once I was done building it, I used cyberduck to FTP the site into cyberspace. Check it out at andthentheysaid.com. Read how I did it…
