Had my first lesson yesterday and loved it. A little scary going on ur own, but I thought the only person stopping me is myself so just do it.

It has always been my dream.. 9 months ago

..that one that I will ride on a horse. This goal was always in my dream and it stays in the dream only cuz it’s not really that common to find a horse and just ride it here in BKK, unless I take a class or something.. So, just a few weeks ago, I finally found one place not too far from my home, they have a horse riding course which am really now contemplating to register and have my dream fulfilled.. I did rode on a horse at a farm before, but that didn’t count as “horse riding” cuz it’s only for tourist and there’s people who’s still there for you to pull the rope to make sure the horse will not do anything and let you fall down!

I recently finished a horse riding course and it’s still weird… I totally love horses – (I love all animals really) – but when I interact with a dog or a cat I KNOW what he’s thinking… I know how to relate to him… with horses it’s different… very different… I believe that just watching how horses behave with each other might be a good start. Understanding why they do what they do would be level 2. If there’s any similarity to dogs (and it should be since they are both pack animals) then you probably have to observe how an alpha horse reinforces it’s position… My (not-at-all-professional) opinion is that body-language is more important than voice or treats. Oh, and they seem to be more sensitive to your fear (maybe because unlike dogs and cats they are used to be the prey not the hunter)

My aunt owns a Horse Riding School in South Africa so I have been riding since I was little (see pic) and feel comfortable on a horse.
Have done everything from dressage to jumping but havent ridden in ages.

I went on a trail ride the other day. I absolutely loved it, and I had the most wonderful horse, Rocky. I loved the feeling of being surrounded by wilderness of the forest and the connection with Rocky. Of course, I wasn’t that good, and I’d love to learn how to ride properly. Now to find the dough for lessons…
