fry an egg on the sidewalk

idk, i’m thinking this goal may not be worth doing. its kind of weird and pointless, maybe this summer on a really hot day, i’ll just get it over with.

so hannah and i attempted this feat, trying different methods, but the hottest day of summer has already passed here in California. i think that i am going to have to throw in the towel on this one till next summer. or move to arizona.

tried today. and failed. i dont think it was hot enough. only 85. hannah says it has to be 35 degrees celsius. today it was only….30? whatever. has to be HOTTER. the end. pictures coming.

there is nothing silly about fried eggs on sidewalk. i hope that silly was meant to be taken in the context of RAD. preposterous.

...but not eat it, of course.

I didnt think it would work, but it did! Where i used to live it would get quite hot in summer (45 degrees celcius and over was common) and my best friend and I were sick of sitting inside one day, so we grabbed some eggs (woops all of them) from her Mum’s fridge and took them out to the park (so she didnt catch us) and cracked ‘em open one by one. It took some time, but sure enough they were cooking!!! Was one of the funniest things I had ever seen (hey I was 12) and still is one of the fondest memories I have her.

I remember thinking that the sidewalk was hot enough that I could do it, so I took an egg outside and cracked it on the sidewalk.

It didn’t cook really fast, but it did cook! Isn’t that incredible?!

I’d love to do it again. What about frying on on the engine of your car? I wonder if you could open the hood and put a frying pan in there and do it.

i doubt it would get hot enough where i live though… i mean sure, alabama gets hot, but not that hot haha
