Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Welcome 2012. 2 years ago

LoveTheRainOctober

Went out for a dinner a week ago to celebrate a relationship milestone. It wasn’t much of a “celebration” but at least it was something. 2 years ago

LoveTheRainWent out last night

And celebrated a work success. Glad I did this. 2 years ago

LoveTheRainSo for August I "celebrated" nice weather again

It wasn’t really a “celebration” but it was a nicer than average night out and I wore a dress. I’m going to count it. :)

September is no shortage of events. Labor day weekend day of fun and two nice evenings out planned including one birthday! 2 years ago

LoveTheRainMy August celebration isn’t happening...

The thing got postponed – it was supposed to happen last week. Oh well. I will just have to come up with something for this weekend!! Maybe a sunshine celebration. 3 years ago

LoveTheRainToday takes care of July!

Happy 4th of July!! (Let there be BBQ!) 3 years ago

LoveTheRainGood celebrations in June

Nothing huge, but a small personal achievement on the 22nd and a group celebration on the 24th. All fun. 3 years ago

LoveTheRainKind of a personal thing...

I may or may not be celebrating on the 22nd. Not sure what shape this celebration will take yet, but if I complete my personal project it will be due. 3 years ago

LoveTheRainWhere did it go?

Okay, so I guess I missed May. Actually I did complete a personal exercise goal and “celebrated” with a little reward (a piece of clothing) so I’m counting that. 3 years ago

LoveTheRainI'm stumped on May

I’m not a mom, and Memorial Day… maybe but honestly that doesn’t really call “celebration.” I will have to think of something really personal for this. This could be good… 3 years ago
