seems like a good idea to put an end to something that needs a line in the sand, something that you are done with in an official, never going back kinda way…

I had this candle that was a Christmas gift from an ex-coworker that I didn’t get along with, and every time I saw it I felt a little annoyed and guilty, but I kept it because I like candles. I’m pretty sure she disliked me as much as I disliked her and only gave it to me because it was expected that we exchange gifts, as we worked together closely. I can’t remember what I gave her. The candle is nice enough, deep blue with silver glitter. I’m burning it now and I cheerfully crumpled the aluminum base it came in. (Yes I’m burning it on a safe surface, mom.) I’m enjoying the candlelight and I’ll enjoy disposing of whatever’s left of it in a while, and I’ll most of all enjoy NOT seeing it ever again.

what should it be? any ideas? 21 months ago

At first I thought about things like alarm clocks, but that would be some pretty toxic, foul stuff I’d be putting in the air. Then I thought about a pine cone, but that wouldn’t be all that satisfying. Help me think, people.

It wasn’t planned, but I really enjoyed it at the time and would do it all over again. At the smoldering end of a relationship, when we were still together, knowing that we were going to seperate soon, and he was on a “field trip,” I invited a friend over, we sat outside, drank tequilla, and relaxed in the deck chairs that I LOVED so much, and my ex hated. It was early spring, a little too cold to sit outside, so I had the outdoor fire pit lit. Drinking, talking, laughing, feelings of liberation later, led me/us to smash the chairs, throw them on the fire and scatter the ashes in the courtyard, jump up and down, laugh, and scream. Technically, the chairs belonged to him since he paid for them and I had no way of taking them with me when I left. It freed something in my spirit to smash them, knowing that he would no longer get the great compliments on his cozy courtyard with the great deck chairs. Immature? Crazy? Perhaps, but it was a blast at the time!

I was having a rough day when I came up with this goal. Still sounds like a good idea though.
