Last night, I’ve read in the papers that Discovery magazines will be available in our country. I’m thinking of getting a copy and see their travel section and see how they do it. Get some ideas.

I don’t know how I can do this. I’m not taking a degree in journalism or anything related to it. What I do know is that I love browsing through travel magazines. But there are so few good travel magazines about the Philippines. Often, travel in the Philippines is just a section of some magazines. They just show pictures and put in some information about the places. But I don’t know. I feel that those are not enough. If you are a traveller, I don’t think you’ll just be interested in what the place can offer but also how to get there, what type of accomodations you can get there, what to expect, what to do when you are there. Both the popular places and those off the beaten paths should be featured also. Those are the things I would love to read in a travel magazine…
I would love to travel all-over the country and I want my own countrymen to want to do that also. We have a beautiful country but so few of us see and appreciate that. I want to change that. The magazine that I would publish would be for my countrymen.

1. I’ve read a lot of travel magazines but I’ve yet to read one dealing with travelling in the Philippines specifically.
2. Most of my countrymen don’t seem to find the country amazing. They find vacationing abroad is grander than spending it in the country. I want to change that.
3. I want to travel and I want to share that passion with others.
4. help in the tourism program of the country.
