start a collection of art from my travels

Despite traveling to Vietnam, Hong-Kong, Prague, Germany, Paris and Puerto Rico within the last year I’ve done squat with this goal! Purchasing souvenirs/ artwork is never a priority while I am in the moment but I always regret it when I come home empty handed. So, lets make 2009 the starting point. We will be visiting the Outer Islands of the Bahamas next week and I vow to return with a treasure or two in tow.

Technically I have not built on my art/travel collection so this really doesn’t count but I did just win two photographs at the ICP Icon Auction.

Although we haven’t decided on a destination yet (South East Asia or East Africa) I am hoping to purchase some art while we are on our honeymoon.

I also have a work trip back to Europe sometime this summer and that I should take advantage of. Especially since I didn’t buy anything when I was in Paris or Czech Republic last fall. I will be sure to keep my eyes peeled for anything interesting.

I went to Athens for a wedding this weekend and returned with a beautful hand-made candle holder.
