Going Away Party 3 weeks ago

Dear family friends are moving half-a-country away. I want to come up with a fabulous send-off party for their whole family. How to do it? Fab party for parents, 14 year old girl, 11 year old boy, and 6 year old boy…...Must put on thinking cap.

Hoorah!! Thanks everyone for the suggestions! 4 years ago

The party went really well. I sold several pieces, had some good laughs, and everyone seemed to have a great time. :) What more could you ask for?

Invitations go out this week 4 years ago

With all the great suggestions, and my chance to remind a few folks about the upcoming party by way of the opening… people sound excited! Everyone is looking forward to it who can attend and those who can’t (because of plans to leave town and what not) swear they’ll squeeze in some time before they leave. :) Another plus is that we’ll have such a fun venue for said party (Magalena’s Tea House – see photo) that who truly can resist?

Now to get the invites addressed, and the final planning under way. Thank you everyone for your suggestions! :)

Silent art auction anyone? 4 years ago

Ok.. the plans are slowly forming… but here’s one idea: A Silent Art Auction. This weekend I’ll be going to Saugatuck to pick up a few paintings from a gallery there that I haven’t seen in nearly a whole year! One of them I so dearly miss and the other has been somewhat popular (although locked away in a gallery that was closed half the year it had no chance to sell).

I was thinking of using that painting and maybe a few other pieces to hold a bit of a silent auction. Also I thought I might create several new mixed media pieces on board – something I can sell for less $$ than paintings and that way people can take home an original piece without feeling like they hurt their pocket books. We can all hang out be social and look at artwork… at the end of the night the winners of the silent auction can be announced and everyone can stumble home having had a fun night. Hopefully.

I still have so many more plans to figure out, but this is a start :) NEED MORE IDEAS.
