Snacks and reading material make up my grab and go. In addition to a hard copy of the week’s activities. I will have to pack it nightly to be effective. This is a great money saver and health strategy for me. Seems my kids are always, ALWAYS hungry. Sneaking something healthy in while we are on the road is a major plus. 5 years ago

crazyinagoodwaySad that I've had this on my list for 6 months

I had raised this goal to much too idealistic standards—some sort of skookum luggage filled with every possible necessity, matching outfits and art kits.

It just took me 5 minutes to walk through the house and fill up a cloth grocery bag with some spare food and clothes, books, trash bags, wet wipes, juice boxes. A few things I didn’t have like spare hairbrush and crayons I just put on my next action list. Something is always better than nothing! 5 years ago

dancingmomWe live on the road too much

not to do this. No matter how old my kids are. I did it when they were little and I need to do it again. I would save so much money. 5 years ago

crazyinagoodwayBack when they were babies

I always had a ready diaper bag with snacks and wipes and all the stuff that would come in handy. That got ditched a while a go. I did have a pretty good kit in the car, but it got stolen. Someone probably thought it was a gym bag and was looking for an Ipod. What a disappointment.

Here’s my starter list:
  1. Small duffel bag
  2. Plastic bags for wet clothes
  3. change of clothes for each child
  4. Wet wipes
  5. Juice boxes
  6. Crackers or something that won’t go bad
  7. An old towel
  8. hair brush and some elastics
  9. Crayons, colouring books
  10. Books to read to them when we’re stuck waiting somewhere
  11. bottled water

That’s just off the top of my head. Suggestions welcome! 5 years ago
