I have now done two 5k’s and one 10k, so I think I will retire this goal. I will continue to do them, though, when they come up. I may never do a 10k again, though. I always come in last when the staff is going to dinner…

I walked another 5K... 4 years ago

I participated in the Faith Fancher breast cancer awareness walk two weekends ago. I have my sights set now on a 10K, which happens tomorrow. I’m sure I can make it through the whole walk, but at what pace, who knows. I don’t look at it as a race, though. The goal is to participate and finish. And after that, I will find more 5 and 10K’s!

Walking is now part of my life, although it’s not always easy to get on that trail every day. Life always tries to intervene, more fun stuff is beckoning—you know how it goes. I’d like to train for short marathons, starting with 5K and working up to 10K, and eventually going for the 15K, or half-marathon, run/walk. I can’t run, but I can sure walk.
