Seriously, helaht insurance is ridiculously expensive. Completely unaffordable if you have to buy it out of pocket.
So Bush decided veto a health care for children bill (SCHIP) because ‘it would cost too much’ like iraq and afghanistan and that doesn’t cost too much, isn’t sucking taxpayer moeny into it like there’s no tomorrow.
Point being. Go here, check it out. If you want please email your rep and tell them to push or at least vote for the veto override.

but i found out one of my co-workers is pro-life today. i didn’t exactly stand up and say you’re wrong, but i made my point that you shouldn’t make abortion illegal with the complete lack of options available and that i’m pro-choice. without making a fight, but without feeling like ooh she’s older than me, i should shut my mouth and just not say anything.
i didn’t change her mind, but i wasn’t trying to. just making the point and speaking up.

Seriously, I try to. Read this.

It’s a sad problem, people of my generation (in the US) especially are going to have to deal with the lack of social security or a greatly reduced social security system when we retire, but very few of us actually know how to save. I see so many people out there my age living paycheck to paycheck, who have no savings, and no real idea of starting one.
Granted for some, it makes more sense to pay off college loans and not collect interest on them before saving money at a lower interest rate than their loans’ rates will increase. But for others, the simple reason is that we’re just too used to not saving, and we want everything all at once.
In either case, we will be struggling very much through our retirement if something cannot be done to shift the way that we view the world right now. The way that we handle our money, and the way that we move to the future.
So, yeah, hoard your monies and don’t overspend. Put even a small amount into something like an Roth IRA, or a 401k, or just put money into CDs for a year or so if you can, and then reinvest that money again when it comes out.
And avoid that credit card trap as best you can. No you don’t need that new CD today. Take that fifteen bucks and put it in the bank, you can get that CD tomorrow.

Cause it’s a great one! Really, it seems so simple, but it can sometimes be so difficult, especially when the people around you aren’t into the same things as you, whether it’s what you watch or what you read, or what you think about the big Questions – morality, religion, lifestyle… This is a great goal, one I try to work on every day, because in the final analysis I’m living MY LIFE, and it’s the only one I’ve got, and I may as well stride through it confident in what I believe and what I enjoy, squeezing the most contentment out of every moment – or what’s the point! Good luck to all!

to say I’m pro-choice. And I’ve thought things through. I understand that people make bad decisions, and that accidents happen, and that it depends where someone is in their life to make that decision.
I also understand you have to think your beliefs through and follow them to their logical consequences. Apparently only one of these people can, and she doesn’t seem entirely certain about them. I would be reexaming the idea that abortion be illegal if I were one of these people. If it’s a crime, all party to it must be punished.

I always feel silly about what’s important to me and what I think is important in the world and things that I like.
Why should I blush when I say that freeganism is cool and I’d love to give it a shot? or when someone sees what I’m reading and I suddenly realize it’s a trashy paranormal romance novel? or that I want to learn cartomancy? or when anything idealistic passes my lips?
I shouldn’t be. And that’s the point.
